Limetrails was recently in Kerala. While navigating from Thekkady to Munnar, I spotted a large water body en-route. On closer look it was a place called Idukki, not one of the regular tourist places in kerala. Since this reservoir appeared way bigger than the Periyar lake, we decided to take a de-tour and explore this not so touristy area in Kerala. We reached a small town called Cheruthoni on the banks of the Cheruthoni river and decided to take a night halt as entry to the Idukki reservoir was closed for the day. The next morning after a massive breakfast at a local restaurant, we headed towards Idukki reservoir. And boy were we in for a surprise!
